Concrete Driveway and Flatwork Replacement in Riverside, Wichita, KS
Wichita Concrete Pros replaces concrete driveways and flatwork in the Riverside neighborhood of Wichita, Kansas, in Sedgwick County. We are a licensed and insured concrete contractor. We tear out and repour driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, and garage slabs for the older homes bounded by the Big and Little Arkansas rivers.
Riverside is one of Wichita's original neighborhoods, laid out as a trolley suburb in the 1880s and filled with Arts and Crafts homes. The flatwork matches the age of the houses. Driveways and walks poured generations ago have spalled where salt and freeze-thaw flaked the surface. Mature trees line these streets, and their roots have heaved slab sections out of level. Slabs poured close to the rivers have settled where the base washed out under them.
An old slab on a failed base cannot be leveled back for long, so we replace it. We break the concrete out, haul it off, and cut back the roots that lifted it. The subgrade gets compacted and a fresh crushed-stone base goes down to drain and carry the load. The new pour is 4000 PSI air-entrained concrete, reinforced and saw-cut with control joints, pitched to move water off the slab. The air-entrained mix stands up to the salt that ruined the old surface.
Riverside work covers driveway replacement, steps and stoops, and sidewalk and walkway replacement. Call (316) 555-0148 for a free estimate in Riverside.
